Privacy
Short version: no cookies, no trackers, no ads. I count visits anonymously, and that’s it.
Visits
To know how many people visit the site, every page sends a tiny anonymous note to my own server. It contains only:
- the page you opened,
- the website you came from (just the domain, for example linkedin.com),
- whether you’re on a phone, tablet or computer (from the screen width),
- the time.
To count each visitor once per day, the server makes a short code from your IP address and browser, mixed with a random key that is replaced every day. The IP address itself is never stored, and because the key changes daily, nobody (including me) can recognise you from one day to the next.
No cookies are used and nothing is stored on your device. If your browser sends Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control, nothing is counted at all. The numbers stay on my hosting and are deleted after 13 months.
Contact form
If you write to me, your name, email and message are sent to my mailbox so I can reply. They aren’t stored on the website and aren’t used for anything else.
Weather station
The Au ZH weather page shows data from my own station. Forecasts and snow data come from Open-Meteo, but my server asks for them: your browser never contacts them.
Everything else
Fonts and scripts are served from this site, with no third-party services. The site is hosted by Hostinger, whose servers keep standard technical logs for security, as described in their own privacy policy.
Who’s responsible
